Today women can have desk jobs, or do jobs that require physical exertion and heavy lifting. Many of you stay at home to take care of your families. That often requires both sitting for long periods of time and doing heavy lifting! Girls often participate in sports from an early age and are susceptible to the same stresses and injuries that boys and young men are exposed to.
As maturing girls you deal with premenstrual syndrome (PMS). Often, PMS is accompanied by headaches, back pain, and host of other symptoms that can accompany the hormone fluctuations. Today many women may experience fertility issues and endometriosis. Even the joyous experiences of pregnancy and birth bring their own stresses on the mother and child.
All of these female health issues and stages of life are frequently met with medications, either prescription or over-the-counter. These medications, including birth control, often create more problems without directly addressing the real issues involved. Side effects include dizziness, drowsiness, blurred vision, nervousness, sleep problems, constipation, decreased liver function with prolonged use—and more. Not the answer!
